摘要

The study was aimed at investigating the use of activated carbon prepared fromSalvadora persica (ACSP) and the results were compared with the polyvinyl alcoholcoated carbon prepared from Salvadora persica (PVAC-SP). Various factors affectingthe adsorption process including solution pH, contact time, adsorbent dose and initialdye concentration were studied in a batch process. PVAC-SP was found to be mosteffective at pH 8. The kinetics of adsorption process was well described by the pseudo2 nd order kinetics model. The maximum adsorption of dye with ACSP and PVAC-SPwere found to be 71.3% and 92.7% respectively.
