The investigation was aimed at determining the most optimum activated sludge concentration during the co-treatment of the municipal landfill leachate mixed with synthetic sewage. The study was carried out in the membrane bioreactor operated as SBR in the 12-hour cycle. The concentration of the biomass was changed from 4 to 28 g/dm3. The activated sludge load was kept at the constant level equal to 0.1 g COD per 1 gDM during 24 h, and the concentration of the oxygen in the reactor chamber was equal to 4 g O2 per 1 m3. The share of the leachate in the co-treated mixture was at the level of 5vol.%. The degree of removal of the impurities load was estimated basing on the change of values of the following parameters: COD, BOD5, N-NO3, N-NH4, Ptot. The leachate treated in the membrane bioreactor was polished in the reverse osmosis process.
