摘要

The article attempts to present the relationships between the concentrations of the analysed pollutants in the treated sewage and the load of these pollutants discharged to the vertical flow sand filter. The objective was realized by carrying out a statistical regression analysis and by calculating the Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The analyses were carried out on four vertical flow sand filters. Each sand filter treated sewage from a single household located in Moszczenica Wy?na nearby Stary S?cz. Each filter was preceded by a septic tank, which constituted the first stage of the sewage treatment process. On the basis of the performed statistical analysis, high correlation was found between the pollutants’ load flowing into the sand filter bed and the concentration of total suspended solids and phosphates in the treated sewage. For BOD5 and CODCr the correlation was medium and it was low for total nitrogen values.
