The paper presents results of flow calculations for the Warta River on a reach of the Poznań Waterways System (PWS), conducted using the SPRUNER computer system of unsteady flow routing. The mathematical model of the 136.3 km reach of the Warta River started at the gauging section in Nowa Wie? Podgórna (km 342+600) and ended at the gauging section in Oborniki (km 206+300). Calculations have been conducted for steady flow conditions for five typical flows with given probabilities. Five variants of reconstruction of the Chwaliszewo Meander have been proposed. In each variant the split between the main Warta channel and the Chwaliszewo Meander channel was proposed at section 243+010, and both channels were to meet again at km 242+290, in the area of the river port. The section being reconstructed was 800 m long. The slope has been assumed to be 0.13‰ and was identical to that of the main channel of the Warta on this channel reach.
