Various sensor nodes in a wireless sensor network (WSN) can communicate in a self-organizing mode to achieve real-time monitoring and real-time transmission. WSN has been widely used in military, agricultural, industrial, medical services and other fields. The purpose of the environmental monitoring system is to control the surrounding environment in real time, provide basic data for environmental control, judge the quality of the environment, analyze the types of pollutants, and finally provide the big data required for environmental protection methods. The traditional environment detection wireless sensor network system usually needs to initialize the sensor network. Generally speaking, this kind of sensor has some limitations such as the accuracy cannot meet the monitoring requirements of a comprehensive system. The sensor network monitoring range is small and there are monitoring blind spots. What’s worse, the fault tolerance performance of the network system is not good. This paper mainly proposes a new wireless sensor network non-uniform clustering algorithm, which is used to alleviate the problem of holes in the network energy of wireless sensors. This algorithm comprehensively analyzes the remaining energy of the nodes, the distance between the nodes and the base station, and the distance between the neighbor nodes during the selection of the cluster head. This algorithm mainly uses the time competition mechanism to select the nodes of the cluster head. The new method research in this paper can provide a good reference for the application of wireless sensor network systems in ecological environment monitoring.
