In our last issue (n°140, 1997), we published three contributions written for the algebrist André Lentin on the occasion of his jubilee, February 23th 1996 ; here is another contribution, written by Louis Nolin. Lively and full of wit, this old and very close friend of André Lentin animated that scientific meeting. With brio and humour, he related the heroic birth, in the fifties, of the academic computer-science in France, and of the "Institut Blaise Pascal" in Paris. Eight months later, he fell sick and died. This is his last article.
