Optimization of Working Life of Transportation Systems

摘要

For every production system the flow of materials and its associated transportation system presentsintegrating factors which in accordance with the technical and technological requirements of the production processhave a major impact to the overall efficiency and production cost. Keeping that in mind, special attention should bepaid to the analysis of the transportation system as a whole, and all of its components, to ensure maximum efficiencyand cost minimization. Since the operational costs increases over time, it is crucial to find a way to determine theoptimal moment of time for replacing the existing transportation system with the new one. This paper has the purpose topresent a methodology for determining of the optimal replacement timing for the existing transportation system withnew one in accordance with its minimal maintenance and operating costs.
