Oilpalmhasbecomeoneofthemostimportantoilcropsintheworld.Marker-assistedselectionshaveplayedapivotalroleinoilpalmbreedingprograms.Here,wereporttheuseofgenotyping-by-sequencing(GBS)approachforalarge-scaleSNPdiscoveryandgenotypingofamappingpopulation.Reducedrepresentationlibrariesof108Fsub2/subprogenyweresequencedandatotalof524#xA0;millionreadswereobtained.Wedetected21,471singlenucleotidesubstitutions,mostofwhich(62.6%)representedtransitionevents.Of3417fullyinformativeSNPmarkers,wewereabletoplace1085onalinkagemap,whichspanned1429.6#xA0;cMandhadanaverageofonemarkerevery1.26#xA0;cM.ThreeQTLaffectingtrunkheightweredetectedonLG10,14and15,whereasasingleQTLassociatedwithfruitbunchweightwasidentifiedonLG3.TheuseofGBSapproachprovedtoberapid,cost-effectiveandhighlyreproducibleinthisspecies./p/div
