Real-Time Digital Simulation: Enabling Rapid Development of Power Electronics

摘要

In this paper, we present the Typhoon Real TimeDigital Simulation (T-RTDS) platform for high-power electronicsystems, the fastest simulation platform of its kind. T-RTDS isbased on novel simulation algorithms and proprietary high-throughput low-latency processor architecture. This approachenables simulation with a 1 μs time-step, including input/output(I/O) latency. As a case study, we present modeling, simulationand experimental results for a system comprising a rectifier, aninverter, an output filter and a load. In addition, we demonstratethe T-RTDS capabilities for testing and verification of controlhardware and software for various operating conditions.
