A New Congress, a New JourneyA fresh beginning for the Field EMS Bill in the 114th Congress

ON JANUARY 6, THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH OF THEUnited States convened the first session of the 114thCongress, the two-year meeting term that follows theNovember 2014 U.S. House of Representatives elections.Any legislation (bill) introduced in the previous113th Congress has been wiped clean from the slates,and all numbered titles (“H.R.” and “S.”) not signedinto law, archived. While the process sounds a littlepermanent, it isn’t really the end. In the case of the FieldEMS Bill (H.R. 809/S. 2400, introduced in 2013 and 2014,respectively), it is a fresh new beginning and one thatbegins with its reintroduction in the 114th Congress.
