Subclavian Artery Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) Recanalization Using the Truepath Device

A 57 year old woman presented with dizziness and vertigo,and on physical examination was found to have asymmetricblood pressure in the upper extremities (80/50 mmHg onthe left versus 150/80 mmHg on the right), as well as adecreased left radial pulse. She had a history of left lowerextremity weakness, residual from a cerebrovascular acci-dent in 2009. She was referred to interventional radiology(IR), after transfer from an outside hospital with left sub-clavian artery occlusion, noted on a CT angiogram of thechest. Before presentation at the study institution, surgicaltreatment had been offered; however, the patient refusedopen surgical treatment and instead opted for non-surgicalor endovascular treatment, if available.
