CONSTRUCTION SITE WASTE DIAGNOSIS AND MEASUREMENTS OF MANAGEMENT The civil construction is an activity that can cause environmental degradation due to the consumption of natural resources, the use of machinery and the changing in the natural landscape. The environmental management system (EMS) promotes an improvement in the environmental quality and makes the companies more competitive. So, the aim of this study was to develop an environmental diagnosis in a construction site in order to adopt the EMS, focused on the solid waste and developing mitigation proposals for the most significant environmental impacts. For this, it was necessary to follow the activities that are carried out in the construction site, evaluate the solid waste management; check the legal requirements, identify the environmental aspects and impacts, evaluate the environmental impacts, and proposing alternatives for mitigation the critical environmental impacts. Among the main proposals, it can be said the solid waste reduction directly at source, and its reuse and correctly final disposal; the treatment and reuse of the effluent; and inspections on trucks and machinery before entering into operation, to avoid spilling fuel and oil and atmospheric emissions.
