摘要

Cesarean section (CS), the most commonly surgical procedure, is performed to overcome certain types of dystocia and/or other com- plications. However, rates of CS with no medical indications have been increasing steadily in both developed and developing coun- tries, exceeding the recommended rates of 10%—15% from the World Health Organization and the international healthcare com- munity. Epidemiological data showed that higher CS rates may in- crease risks of certain adverse health outcomes in mothers and children.
