The Philippines is one of the vulnerable countries in the Asia Pacific area where disasters commonly strike. The World Risk Index ranks the Philippines third among the countries being struck by natural disasters with an index value of 26.70. Approximately 80 typhoons develop above tropical strength [9]. In consonance with this, the community must be aware of disaster preparedness. Disaster phenomenon disrupts human life which can be caused by nature or man-made incidence. Our objectives here are to: i) visualize available data in resource allocations such as evacuation mapping, school allocation and management using data analytics, ii) develop and design a mobile-based information system to support the disaster management process easier, and iii) collect and analyze the demographic profile of the affected communities. We analyzed the existing process of data collection to design and develop a mobile-based system that employs Agile methods appropriate for system development. Our results show that the system requirements were able to meet the needs of the disaster management council. Among the attributes, the portability attained the highest weighted mean with 4.57 which shows that the system is highly adapted to other systems. Our study revealed that with the application of data analytics and visualization on disaster management, the council can enhance the transactions and can manipulate data for future reference and decision making.
