摘要

14.00 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Keloids are benign hyper-proliferative growths of dense fibrous tissue and over abundant deposition of disorganized, thick, hyalinized collagen that results from an abnormal tissue response to cutaneous injury. Such keloids in the earlobe form after ear piercing, trauma, infection, burns or spontaneously. They enlarge and extend beyond the margins of the original wound and rarely regress. Here, we present a case with bilateral tops like ear lobe keloid of unusual size and reviewed the current hypotheses for keloid formation along with treatment modalities. This information assists in deciphering the complexity of keloid pathogenesis and help in the development of an effective therapeutical strategy.
