This paper attempts to discuss ideas on the potential benefits of using mechanical energy to subsidize the processing and transport of traditional fossil. A reduction of the energy returned on energy invested is a natural process relating to human nature. At first people consume the best thing, and then - what remains. To stop negative processes of reduction in the ERoI is not possible, but they can be speeded up for the quick returns sake. It means that the people begin to care about efficient and cost-effective use of the resources, when these resources come to an end, and prices skyrocket. The easiest way to decrease rates of reduction in the ERoI is to considerably diminish the use of oil equivalent for oil production and transportation. In the process of convertibility of one kind of energy into another and during its transportation, the energy loses more than it is used by consumer. The "direct use conception" for the energy assumes reduction in energy losses to an acceptable level, where it is possible. Alternative energy did not resolve the problems of global energy lack. At the same time, the technologies created for alternative energy, taking into consideration their proper use, can improve energy efficiency for production and transportation of oil equivalent.
