摘要

Investigating influence of tool geometry and process parameters on performance characteristics of EN-19 steel in sink type EDM is the ultimate aim of this work. The experiments were carried out on l EN-19steel. Five control factors (A), pulse current (B), time trigger pulse (C), stop time pulse (D), various forms of copper electrodes (?, ?, ? ), were chosen to explore the effects on the rate of material removal (MRR), The wear rate (TWR), tool and the wear ratio (WR) . The L18 orthogonal array based on Taguchi experimental method was used to determine EDM machining characteristics systemically, and experimental data were statically analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Experimental results showed the optimum conditions for maximum material removal rate (MRR), minimum tool wear rate (TWR) and minimum wear ratio(WR).
