摘要

Structures found on expansive soils subjected to distress under moisture variations in foundation soils. soil stabilization is one of the technique to controls moisture migration. In this connection RHA has been selected a stabilizer to study engineering properties of expansive soils. Tests like plasticity ,compaction, and strength were performed. From the test results it is identified that addition of RHA decreases plasticity and improves strength characteristics. Addition of 30% RHA makes the expansive soil non-plastic, non-swelling and attain CBR of 8% and at 40% it attained Angle of shearing resistance (?) is 36o and CBR as 10.
