Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles have been prepared by oxidation-precipitation method usingMonoethanolamine (MEA) as precipitation agent and by modified co-precipitation method using themixture of isomeric-branched primary alcohol (A1416) and kerosene as stabilizing agent, respectively.X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) patterns and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) images indicate theformation of magnetite with cubic phase consisting of crystalline, near-to-spherical particles with sizesaround 10 nm. At high PH values or elevated temperature the precipitated particles possess largercrystallite sizes. Magnetic diameters are obtained by using Chantrell equations from the magnetichysteresis loops. The proportion of spin disorder layer in nanocrystalline diameter decreases with anincrease in crystallite size.
