Novel platinum and silver decorated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (PtAg/MWCNTs) have beensuccessfully prepared on electrode surface for nonenzymatic glucose detection. X-ray diffraction(XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analyses reveal that the Pt and Ag NPs were successfullydeposited on the MWCNTs in this hybrid composite. In neutral condition, the electrode shows goodactivity towards glucose oxidation with low overpotential (-0.35 V vs. Ag/AgCl) and a currentresponse that is 2.50 times greater than that obtained using Pt/MWCNTs/GCE andAg/MWCNT/GCE. The optimised condition based on current response is found at pH 1.-1 -2 Voltammograms indicate a linear range of 15 mM with sensitivity of 115.8 A mM cm . Thiselectrode can effectively analyse glucose concentration in bovine serum albumin samples. It showsadvantages with low overpotential, high sensitivity, good stability, and low cost.
