Resilient multicast is a challenging issue for overlay trees particularly because of high churn. In this work,we propose a mechanism that allows scalable video multicast. While the regular operation involves treepushof the video, any node that looses its parent on the tree solicits video from a predetermined backup setof nodes in a mesh-pull fashion. The main idea is to allocate less bandwidth for backup to improvebandwidth utilization while maintaining the best possible video quality. The choice of essential designparameters are studied together with seamlessness of the streaming under variety of fault scenarios.Simulation results indicate the optimality of the proposed approach as far as resiliency, bandwidthutilization, delay and video quality are concerned.
