The rapid advancement of internet has made it easier to send the data/image accurate and faster to the destination. The ease by which digital information can be duplicated and distributed has led to the need for effective copyright protection tools.Diverse techniques including watermarking, steganography, cryptography have been introduced in effort to tackle these increasing concerns. Recently digital watermarking technology has emerged as an effective solution for protecting the digital content from unauthorized copying. Digital watermarking is deployed so as to prohibit illegal replication or exploitation of digital images.Watermarking can be defined as the practice of perceptibly or imperceptibly altering a given work to embed a message about that work. This paper surveys the features and concepts pertaining to the popular watermarking techniques and analyzes them to evaluate with metrics such as Time complexity, PSNR ,PSR ,MSE values and similarity measure of watermarks based on implementation. We have also studied the effects of different types of noises on different watermarking techniques such as LSB,Correlation,DCT,DWT
