摘要

Planar filters have significant advantages in the development of the transceivers of communications systems. Nowadays, defected microstrips is a hot topic in the research on microwave systems. However, some of them present significant radiation at frequencies above resonant frequency, which impairs greatly the rejection band of filters. A comparison of radiation effects in defected ground and defected microstrip cells is presented. Power coupling to the ports, cut-off frequencies, losses and attenuation; among other responses, are determined. Results are corroborated with measurements of defected microstrips built on the same substrate FR4, which is commonly used for printed circuit boards, and designed to resonate at microwave frequencies.
