New Army directorate expands focus from cyberspace to strategic ops

The Army has established a new directorate in its management office focusing on strategic operations to include a wider range of joint all-domain operations capabilities, a service official told reporters today. The Department of the Army's Management Office-Strategic Operations, previously DAMO-Cyber, will shift its focus from cyberspace operations to the electromagnetic spectrum. The office, established in February, contains the following divisions, according to an Army press release: enterprise systems; mission command, including the warfighting mission area; space; and information dominance. "Our responsibilities are going to be primarily through integrating, prioritizing and then synchronizing the multidomain data-enabled warfighting systems that we encounter throughout our Army and, frankly, across the joint force," Brig. Gen. Martin Klein, director of strategic operations in the office of the deputy chief of staff (G-3/5/7), said during a media roundtable.
