Después del a?o internacional Gaudí: ?qué más sabemos de su obra?

En el articulo se analizan los efectos de lo que se ha dicho y escrito sobre Gaudí y su obra en los a?os 2001y 2002 -A?o Internacional Gaudí-, según el autor. un auténtico alud de informaciones que ha servido poco para elevar el nivel de conocimiento y comprensión de la obra gaudiniana. Además de un resumen numérico sobre los textos publicados en este período (la mayor parte de los cuales tratan del personaje y no de su obra), se destacan algunos ciclos de conferencias y exposiciones que han aportado algo nuevo en relación con la obra del arquitecto. Por aira parle, el manifiesto en contra de la restauración de la iglesia de la Colonia Güell (presentado en las postrimerías del A?o), así como el disparate del hotel de Nueva York se presentan como dos casos que vuelven a evidenciar que una cosa es aportar conocimientos y aira es que la gente o los especialistas los asimilen. Se concluye que lodo ello ratifica la constante incomprensión y confusión sobre la obra del arquitecto e indica la inutilidad del A?o Gaudí.↓The article analyses the effects of what has been said and written about Gaudí and his work in 2001-2002 International Gaudí Year. According to the author; the deluge of information has served little to raise the level of knowledge and understanding of his work. Apart from a numerical listing of the texts published during this period (most of which refer to the individual rather than his work), it highlights the occasional cycle of conferences and exhibitions that have contributed something new in respect of the architect’s achievements. On the other hand, the announcement denouncing to the restoration of the Colonia Güell Church (presented in the closing stages of the commemorative year), and the folly of the hotel in New York, are put forward as two cases which illustrate the fact that it is one thing lo contribute to knowledge, but another matter to have it accepted by experts. The article concludes that all this illustrates the constant lack of understanding and confusion about the architect’s work and underlines the futileness of the Gaudí Year.
