Nuclearquadrupoleresonance(NQR)isaspectroscopictechniquethatcandetectexplosivesofhighchemicalspecificityandthereforeitisverysuitableforthelandminedetectionproblem.ThereareseveralfactorsaffectingtherelationofnoisesignalratiowithNQR:moleculardynamicsofrelaxation,interferencesignals,thermalnoise,explosiveamount,distance,temperatureandthedesignofthedetectingsystem.Literaturehassearchedwaysforsolvingoneormoreofthesefactors,butsincenotalltheworkhasbeenfocusedonlandminedetection,manyhaveonlybeentestedinsimulationorwithdataobtainedundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions,wherethedetectionisnotremote(thereisnoseparationbetweenthesampleandthedetectionsystem).ThispapermakesareviewofthestateofartinNQR,analyzingitsrelevancetothelandminedetectionproblemandconcludingaboutunsolvedproblemsthatcouldbethefocusoffutureresearch./font
