Providing an in-house Blood and Body Fluid Exposure Injury (BBFEI) management service in a private healthcare facility

At St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) theExposure Injury Management Service was provided collaboratively by anexternal consultant and the in-house Infection Prevention Department.Limitations of the existing system were recognised. In July 2012 a newframework was developed to address limitations and the service wasundertaken solely by SVPHM.
