span style="letter-spacing:-.1pt;mso-bidi-language: HI" lang="EN-GB"The reaction of anisaldene-thiosemicarbazone (HL) with MClsub2/sub.6Hsub2/subO (where M = Co(II) and Ni(II) ), Cu(CHsub3/subCOO)sub2/sub.Hsub2/subO and [Pd(COD)Clsub2/sub] on stirring/refluxing affords six-coordinated [Co(L)sub2/sub(HL)] (b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"1/b) and four-coordinated [Ni(L)sub2/sub] (b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"2/b), [Cu(L)(HL)] (b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"3/b) and [Pd(L)(COD)]Cl (b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"4/b) complexes. All the complexes have been characterized by conductivity measurements, FTIR, UV-vis, ESI(+) mass, supspan style="mso-bidi-font-style:italic"13/span/supC and supspan style="mso-bidi-font-style:italic"1/span/supH NMR spectroscopy, TGA-DTA analysis, magnetic and cyclic voltammetry studies and screened i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"in vitro/i for antimicrobial activity by the agar well method. The ligand and the Cu(I) complex have been tested for anticancer activity The Cu(I) complex exhibits quite good antifungal activity against i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"R. solani/i and i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"F. oxosporum ciceri, /iand also possesses better antiproliferative activity than the ligand against the cancer cells. /span
