AP-SMART – A regional initiative with an international impact

APKASS (Asia-Pacific Knee, Arthroscopy and SportsMedicine Society) is a new regional society evolved fromAPOSSM (Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Society for Sports Med-icine) which was founded in 1995 in Hong Kong. In line withthe international trends of development in bringing togetherthe disciplines of arthroscopy, knee surgery and orthopaedicsport medicine in one entity, and with the emergence ofinternational body such as ISAKOS and regional body such asESSKA, the membership of APOSSM considered this is anappropriate time to evolve into a new entity of APKASS, inlate 2011.
