摘要

Cell type-specific gap junction network of excitatory neurons in the developing neocortex Gap junctions permeate ions and small molecules between cells, and mediate electrical coupling between neurons to regulate syn- chronous firings in the nervous systems. Gap junctions also regulate neuronal circuit formation. In the neocortex, both inhibitory neu- rons and glial cells are densely and cell-type-specifically coupled by gap junction and regulate neural network activities. However, previously it has been unclear whether excitatory neurons have gap junctions, and if any, the coupling specificity has been unexamined.
