Thisstudyaimedtoevaluatetheefficiencyofaqueousextractsoffivespeciesofmedicinalplant,Verbenaofficinalis(L.),Erythrinamulungu(Mart.exBenth.),Quassiaamara(L.),Bidenspilosa(L.)andPlantagolanceolata(L.)invitro,andsprayedontomatoplantsforthecontrolofMeloidogyneincognita.InvitroexperimentswereconductedingrowthchambersinacrylicELISAplates.Thetreatmentsweredosesof0,10,20,30,40and50gbull;Lsup#45;1/supofdifferentaqueousextracts.Onthesixteenthdaythenumberofsecondstagejuveniles(Jsub2/sub)hatchedpertreatmentwasevaluated.TheresultsshowedthataqueousextractsofV.officinalis,E.mulungu,Q.amara,B.pilosaandP.lanceolata,reducedthehatchingofM.incognita,withtheaqueousextractofP.lanceolatashowingupto100%reductioninhatching.Theinvivoassaywasconductedinagreenhouse.Forthis,fourspraysofdifferentextractswereappliedtotomatoshoots.Accordingtotheresultsofthistest,noneoftheextractswereefficientatcontrollingM.incognitathroughfoliarspraying.Theefficiencyoftheseextractstocontrolplantparasiticnematodesduringinvivotestsshouldnotbedisregarded,however,furtherstudiesshouldbeconductedtotestdifferentmethodsofapplication,dosesormethodsofextractingtheactiveprinciples./font
