The article presents the measurement results of a time-variable volumetric air flow rate flowing inside the inlet duct of a main ventilation fan. In situ research was carried out using the multi-spot flow velocity field measurement system in mine workings (SWPPP), which provides wireless measuring data transmission from anemometric sensors to the real-time data recording and processing unit. The system allows for the estimation of the instantaneous distribution of air velocity in the measured section. On this basis, the instantaneous value of the volumetric flow rate is calculated. The fan channel connected to the ventilation mine shaft in the K mine was chosen for the research. The measuring equipment and the applied research methods have been described. The application of the SWPPP system for the volumetric flow rate measurement enabled the application of a new method to determine the pressure-volume curve of the tested main ventilation fan in the mine. The sample results are presented in the form of the distribution of the velocity field in the channel, the shaping of volumetric air flow rate for various air flow damper positions of the analysed fan.
