摘要

Characterization of fauna is important for the understanding ofcommunities and ecosystems, enabling the design of actions forconservation. In the present piece of work, we identif ied total 45morphospecies belonging to the order Acarina, Pseudoscorpionida,Dictyoptera, Araneida, Amblypygi, Isopoda, Plecoptera, Amphipoda,Zygentoma, Spirostreptida, Coleoptera, Collembola, Diptera, Ensifera,Heteroptera, Hymenoptera, Lepidopteraand Psocoptera from twodistincttypes of caves of Campo Formoso, state of Bahia in Brazil. It was made toprovide subsidies for conservation studies. The targeted caves wereTiquara Cave suffered for many years from saltpeter extraction and AngicoCave less visited cave having high tourist potential. Though theconservation status is much better in Angico cave, but we foundcomparativelymore morphospecies inTiquaracave.
