Civets in the Limestone Caves of Andaman Islands: Notes on the Distribution and Natural History

Civetsareoneamong the introduced mammals in IslandsofAndaman and Nicobar. Masked or Himalayan Palm Civet( ) and Large Indian Civet () in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are known touse diverse habitats. However, this is the f irstdocumentation of the civets using the limestone caves inthe Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The article also tried tocorrelate the relationship between the physicalcharacteristicsof thecavesand thepresenceof civet in it.
