NMRtitrationscanbeusedtosimultaneouslydeterminethepKa'sofmixturesoforganicacidsandbasesprovidedchemicalshiftsaresensitivetotheirchangeofprotonationstates.Carbonsareinprinciplebetterprobesthanprotonsbecausetheirchemicalshiftsaretypicallymoresensitivetothechangesintheelectronicdensitiesofthefunctionalgroupstheyareboundto.Theyarealsolesspronetooverlap,donotsufferfromsecond-ordereffectsandarelesssensitivetochangesinsolventconditions.RecordingHSQCspectrasatisfactorilyreducesthelackofsensitivityofcarbon-detectedexperimentsandthesignaldispersionintwodimensionsallowstoautomaticallyandfinelytrackthedriftsofalargenumberofsignalssimultaneously.Theapplicationofspectralaliasingtothecarbondimensionsallowstoquicklyreachthehighresolutionrequiredtopreciselymeasurevariationsincarbonchemicalshifts.Thepaperextendsthemethodologytothetreatmentofthedatastemmingfromthesimultaneousanalysisofmixturesofcompounds.Italsointroducesmethodstoimprovethenormalizationprocessanddealwithmissingpoints.TheapplicationisnotlimitedtothedeterminationofpKaandcanbereadilyextendedtothedeterminationofotherchemicalconstantsinexperimentswherethecomponentsofthemixturedynamicallycompeteforsubstratesotherthanprotons...
