How does chronic pancreatitis affect the quality of life in patients?

52 patients were identified. 63% of patients had a diagnosis ofmalignancy, of which head of pancreas tumours (31%) were the mostcommon. Median length of inpatient stay was 14 days. 79% of admissionsunderwent ERCP of which 44% had failed 1st procedures. 89% of failedprocedures were in patients with malignancy. Median time to externaldrainage following failed ERCP procedures was 4 days. The median time toperforming subsequent internalisation was 5 days. 19% of patients haddelayed discharges whilst awaiting improvement in bilirubin levelsfollowing definitive procedures (median 10 days).
