African oral and poster abstracts from the 2016 International Conference on Emergency Medicine Conference

The International Conference on Emergency Medicine conference was held between 18 and 21 April in Cape Town, SouthAfrica. This was a significant event as it was held on Africanshores for the first time in the conference’s 30-year history.The location provided access to African researchers as neverseen before for such a prestigious conference; it drew around2000 delegates from 58 nations around the globe. The AfricanFederation for Emergency Medicine again supported attendance from low and middle income settings through the Supadel programme*. For this conference, 172 delegates collectivelyraised US$ 23 331 to sponsor the attendance of 40 delegates.To date, Supadel has provided sponsorship for 146 delegatesover seven regional and international conferences with contributions from 350 delegates.
