The paper presents the results of a numerical aerodynamic analysis whose purpose was to determine the influence of the rate of descent on the vortex ring state (VRS). This phenomenon occurs for an appropriate combination of induced velocity and the velocity of the incoming airstream from the bottom. The rates of change of velocities delimit dangerous areas of flight. The simulations were performed using FLUENT software and the geometry of helicopter W-3 ?Sokó?”.
