AbstractIn this work, date palm mat (DPM) and palmyra palm fruit (PPF) fibers were incorporated to high density polyethylene (HDPE) for the fabrication of hybrid composites. The composites were prepared by compression molding at different weight % (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 wt %) of fiber contents. Physical, mechanical and soil degradation properties were studied. Thermal properties, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis of the 100% HDPE and hybrid composites were also done. The results from experiments indicate that the properties of the hybrid composites at 5% fiber content are better than 100% HDPE.
