Tunisia is one of the most importantolive-growing countries of the southernMediterranean region. Despite the crop’simportance, the main constraints facing Tunisianolive production are low productivity, agingtrees, and inadequate nutrient management. Thenutritional defi cit in these orchards has resultedin crop losses, low fruit quality, and in severecases, the death of trees. Generally, fertilizationis done without any previous knowledge of thenutritional status of the trees or the soil nutrientbalance.
