Hybrid Application Layer Protocol Design for IoT Environments

摘要

One of the important factors affecting communication performance in the Internet of Things isthe messaging protocol. MQTT, XMPP and AMQP are centralized application protocols thatcommunicate through the server. DDS and CoAP are application protocols that cancommunicate directly, especially in real-time applications. As the Internet of Things isbecoming more widespread and usage scenarios have different requirements, new approachesto data communication are required. In this study, a UDP based hybrid application layerprotocol has been designed which can communicate both directly and through central server. Inaddition, operating logic and packet structure of the developed hybrid protocol is examined.
