Ampullarycarcinomawasdiagnosedin6rhesusmacaquesthatrangedinagefrom20to35years.Signalment,premonitorysignsofdisease,andresultsofclinicalbiochemicalandhematologicanalysesvariedamonganimals.Histologically,theneoplasticcellsobliteratedtheampulla,withregionalspreadtotheduodenuminall6animalsandtothepancreasinoneanimal.Twoanimalshadmetastasestothelung,andanothertwohadmetastasestothepancreoduodenallymphnodesandliver.Oneanimalhadmesocolonicmetastasis.Malignanttumorsoftheampullaryregionarerareindomesticanimals,andaccountforlessthan5%ofallcancersofthedigestivetractinhumans.
