THE AST, LDH, gGT AND SAP DETERMINATIONS IN HEALTH HORSES IN SANTA MARIA - BRAZIL

Fifty healthy adult horses were used in order to determine the values of Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), Gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase (gGT) and Serum alkaline phosphatase (SAP). The values found were 101 - 190U/I to AST, 100 - 421 U/l to LDH, 2 - 27U/I to gGT and 103 -335U/I to SAP. It is intended to summarize briefly the significance of the tests. The calculated ratios obtained from this values to be used as a regional reference in order to determine these enzymes at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Santa Maria - Brazil.
