The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command develops the standards, policiesand integrated architectures for innovative and interoperable command, control,communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR)solutions that meet warfighters' requirements. The departments of the Navy andDefense are in the midst of a multi-year transition from legacy stove-piped systemarchitecture to a services oriented architecture (SOA) approach. Stand-aloneapplications are migrating to reusable services within a system, and systems are nowstarting to share services.
