摘要

This paper will present an overview of the general ontology-building toob known as CIDOC CRM (the International Committee for Documentation Conceptual Reference Model). Starting from the challenge to create a structured retrieval tool to Google, the ability of CRM will be explored in terms of its ability to create structured dqescriptions of potentially any artefact, person/body or event. CRM has also been applied to FRBR (the Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) to create a revision of FRBR known as FRBRoo. That revision will be explained in this paper.
