Under the agreement, Novartis will strengthen its innovative pharmaceuticals business by acquiring GSK’s Oncology portfolio and divesting itself of vaccines (excluding flu). The two companies will also create a joint venture, combining their consumer divisions to create a world-leading consumer health care business.
