Landscapes from the TGV train. A look at farming systems from Paris to Marseille from the right-hand window

The general question addressed here is: what information on regional diversity does looking out of a high-speed train (TGV: train à grande vitesse) window provide? Using the concept of agrarian systems, the author defines the visual indicators allowing sequences of landscape along the line to be perceived. Starting with a series of sketches, he constructs pictures designed to provide the best possible synthetic representation of each. The landscape reveals agrarian systems and allows the succession of various types of agriculture along the route to be "read" in an intelligent way.
