A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE WOMEN'S NETWORK OF THE CACUN MESSAGE DE LA PRéSIDENTE DU RéSEAU DES FEMMES DE LA SCéC

The Women’s Network of the CAC was created by a group of female classicists nearly 25 years ago to support women’s scholarship in Classical Studies, women’s professional activities in the discipline, and all scholars and graduate students with research and teaching interests in gender and sexuality in the ancient world. We are an informal group with no membership dues (other than those paid to the CAC). All members of the CAC are welcome to participate. Our activities include a lunch during the annual meetings with a general business meeting, and the sponsorship of themed panels during the sessions at the meetings. At the most recent lunch/meeting in Montreal the members decided that our next panel would be on “Gender-Bending in Ancient Cultures.” A full CFP will be circulated along with the general announcement of the CAC conference in the fall.
