Seventeen journals are indexed in the Cumulative Index to Nursing Literature, volumes 1-5. Although some of these journals publish their own annual index, this volume provides in one place an author-subject index to literature in the field of nursing. Most fields of special interest in nursing are well represented. Nurses who are seeking information in the area of clinics, out-patient care, school health, and administration will not find all their sources of information covered, however, since the journals indexed do not carry the majority of papers in these fields. Although most of the latter are covered in the Index to Hospital Literature, I would like to see the Journal of School Health included, since school nursing is a rapidly expanding field.
