LAWRENCE REYNOLDS, M.D., 1889-1961

Dr. Lawrence Reynolds, who died in Detroit on August 17, 1961, achieved distinction in the science of radiology and in the arts of medical leadership and of medical practice. He knew, however, that medicine is more than a science or an art, or even than a happy combination of both. He understood, as do too few, that medicine is also a deep current in the broad stream of human culture. On many occasions during his fruitful life he probably said to himself, as did Andrew Lang: "I'd leave all the hurry, the noise and the fray For a house full of books and a garden of flowers."
